Ring…ring…….

Ring…ring…….

The phone rings…..   You answer…..   It’s the IRS!   YAY!!!

Actually…..NO.  The IRS will not call you on the phone.  It’s a scam.  Don’t talk to whoever that is.

There are also email scams.  The emails appear to be from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service and include a case number and a message saying your income was flagged due to a processing error.  The email says you need to click a link to provide info or your processing will be held up.

NEVER CLICK A LINK IN AN EMAIL from the IRS.  They will not initiate contact through an email.

Report email scans to the IRS at phishing@irs.gov . For more info on email scams click here.
